    LiketoKnow.It + Hurricane Harvey Donations

     Happy Thursday!

Welcome to a very (hopefully) informative and useful post!!  By the end of this post you will be set up with LIketoKnow. It and know how to help with Hurricane Harvey relief.  This is a change from the usual but I felt strongly about using this platform to help those in need in the Houston and surrounding areas.  Many of you have probably already donated, plan to or are providing support in other ways.  Hat’s off to you.  Compassion and empathy are powerful emotions and both are needed in times like these.

As some of you know, especially if you follow me on Instagram, I was accepted into the LIketoKnow. It group of style influencers.  This was a goal I had set for myself when I launched the blog so I was pretty excited when it happened before the one year mark.  Anyway, if you are not familiar, LiketoKnow. It is a service that helps me help you!!  It is an easy and efficient way for you to access the clothes, home goods and lifestyle products you see on Instagram and my blog.  The upside for you is that it is as easy as liking a photo on Instagram (something you are already doing) and clicking on a link or thumbnail on my blog (also something I hope you are doing).

Now the disclaimer and the upside for me: when you purchase something from my Instagram or blog I make a small commission on the sale of the product.  It does not cost you anything to click or purchase the product through LIketoKnow. It; it just helps fund my coffee and wine habits (ha!).  In fact this is geared at making it easier, more convenient and streamlined for you!!  But seriously, one of my goals is to inspire you to feel and look your best.  Therefore, I strive to style outfits that you want to wear and buy, I aim to provide content that will inspire you and I hope to link products that are practical and useful for you.

There are two MAIN ways for you to use LiketoKnow.It.

    2. Downloading the App to your phone.

Next head over to Instagram and starting “liking” my photos withImage result for liketoknow it symbol embedded in them (or any photo with the emblem).  Once you open your app all the photos you liked will appear for easy shopping.  OR you can screen shot the photo from Instagram, open your app and the photo will show up with easy tabs for shopping the products.

    Next Up… Hurricane Harvey

First off I want to express my deepest sympathies to anyone who has been affected by this terrible natural disaster.  While I do not have any personal connections to Houston nor have I ever been there I am human and am sadden to watch my fellow man suffer.  So… I want to help.  I want to show support not only through thoughts, prayers and well wishes but by taking action and making a finical donation to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund  and I want you to help me.

Every cent of commission I make between now and Monday will be donated the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

What does that mean for you…. it means you get to SHOP.  Every time you make a purchase through my blog, my Instagram or Twitter in the next five days I will donate the commission  instead of keeping it.  For the next several days I will be posting some of my favorite looks for fall over on Instagram, tweeting (@pishtoposh) out links and below I have linked up some of my favorite looks from August.  There are a ton of items on sale, there are some really fun new fall loos and some essentials that are a must have. As I have been watching the news and scrolling social media I am blown away by the humanity, kindness and bravery I am seeing in regards to the devastation in Houston.  I pray for the families affected, rescue workers and anyone displaced.  I hope you join me in making sure we continue to support those in need.

    Summer: Shopping with fab’rik

    Happy Summer Everyone!!

This is a new type of post for me… I feel like I am experiencing more “new” posts than I am not… huh???
**This post is sponsored by fab’rik but all opinions are my own**

    ANY-WHO!

Let’s talk about shopping.  Let’s talk about summer.  Let’s talk about shopping for summer.  Recently I was lucky enough to spend a morning at fab’rik, here in Denver, helping some gorgeous ladies pick out some summer vacation looks!!  To start, I was so honored to be offered this opportunity but was super nervous as this was the first time I was going to get to style real people (other than my mom). It turned out to be such a great experience and I can not thank fab’rik enough!!!  I loved seeing women get excited about their clothes, the way they looked and how affordable the pieces were.

The ladies at fab’rik Denver are so sweet and set me up for success.  And besides the fabulous selection at fab’rik really sells itself!!  The whole store is under $100 (with the exception of Hudson products) and they have everything from denim, shorts, tops, dresses, rompers, hats and accessories.  I love how so many of their pieces are from their own brand Asher which partners with Project 82 to help provide aid to children left abandoned in Kenya.  Here in Denver they have adopted Joshua and proceeds from the sale of their Asher clothing will help benefit him!  I love clothes with a cause.

Below I have rounded up my top 10 favorite pieces for a perfect summer chic vacay look.  You can order online or you can stop into your local shop (here in Denver that is Aspen Grove). Make sure to snag up something sleek and classy for your trips this summer. I know I am. and can’t wait to scoop some new goodies for at trip to Austin I have planned in July.

JUST CLICK ON THE PHOTO YOU LIKE TO BE TAKEN TO FAB’RIKS WEBSITE FOR EASY ONE-CLICK (OR TWO) SHOPPING!

    Summer Vacation Essentials

    Summer Vacation Essentials

Not only was I able to pick some fabulous pieces for my summer vacation wardrobe I was able to help style and empower other women who snagged a few summer pieces for their own closets.  One lady I worked with was a busy mom who felt she couldn’t look cute and when I heard this my heart hurt.  Not EVER should someone feel that she is not worthy of looking and feeling fabulous– so we spent some time pulling pieces that would work in her busy life and for her body type.  As a mom, myself, I know that sometimes clothes can be restrictive and not compatible with chasing after kids all day BUT there are so many wonderful options out there that you can wear while gallivanting around with kiddos and still look FABULOUS.  We got this sweet woman, Lindsay, walking out with a new pair of pants and a new attitude!!  I received an email from her later on thanking me and no matter how many collaborations I do, or how many likes or views I get… hearing another mom/woman tell me she feels great after working with me is EXACTLY why I do this.  Thank you Lindsay for opening yourself up and allowing me to help you find your perfect summer mom style- you looked fabulous!!

fab’rik is located in twelve states so make sure you check out their website to find your local store.  You can order online as well but stopping in and supporting your local shop will be so much fun.

    Which ones are your favorite???

    Collaboration vs. Competition

Welcome to a, potential, new series!!!

Over the last several months, since moving back to Denver, I have been so lucky to meet some amazing and supportive woman.  Upon moving back I was nervous that I would not fit in anywhere in this blogging world, or that the ladies I met would be far more established than me or that I would just not mesh with anyone.  Well, none of that is true and in fact I have found the exact opposite.

This new series will feature and introduce you to many of the new ladies i have met, some of the amazing stores/brands I get to work with and additional supports I have found.  Most of them are focused in Denver but not all.  I hope through this new, monthly, post you may find a new blooger to follow or be inspired to check out a new store, find a new eyebrow consultant or just enjoy a new type of post.

I think it is important to address and chat about the idea of collaboration over competition.  In this field (of blogging or fashion) I truly believe that we can only learn from each other.  As there is no paved way to become a blogger it has been through the collaboration, support and advice of others that I have been able to find my niche.  Are these other bloggers my competition??? I guess technically yes…but my goal is to inspire you to feel confident, get a break from reality and give a little piece of my world.  ALL of the ladies, brands, boutiques and providers in this series do that (and much much more) for me!!!  I truly believe that by working together, chatting about successes and failures, providing resources to one another and enjoying some wine is by far the better way to go about this mission.

Do I hope you continue to read my blog, peep me on Instagram and follow my adventure… ABSOLUTELY.  But why stop there…. there are so many amazing blogs, feeds and adventures out there… don’t stop with just me.

To start this I want to introduce to not only some fabulous bloggers (who you should go follow) but an entire network and one of the cutest little boutiques around!

Let me introduce you to Style Collective and my Denver Style Collective friends!! I have linked all their blogs and Instagram pages so all you have to do is click!! Make sure to follow them and see what they are up to- they deliver amazing content.

    Style COllective

Style Collective is a network of bloggers who support, encourage, guide and inspire each other.  I joined Style Collective back in October and it has been one of the best decisions I have made since launching my blog. I know there are a ton of networks out there for bloggers but the SC “sisterhood” really provides the most amazing support.  Recently, the founder Annie, started a new podcast series focusing on being a GIRL BOSS and breaking free from the fear.  I have linked it <here>

    meet some style collective bloggers

Nicole (@lifeinstyles_ns): Her blog Life in Styles focuses mainly on fashion.  She styles and wears everyday clothes that are suitable for active working mom’s (as she is one) and she is one of the sweetest ladies I have met since moving back to Denver.

Delayna (@delaynadenaye): Her blog Delayna Denaye is a lifestyle fashion blog focusing on all things beauty, fashion and lifestyle related.  She is one of the most organic down to earth ladies around!

Alyssa (@teddybearsandlipsticks): She writes and styles the blog Teddy Bears and Lipstick.  She is a fellow mom and does an incredible job incorporate everyday  stylish looks into her life and she does it seamlessly.

Raeann (@raeannlangas): This fabulous lady has the best personality and her blog Rae Everyday showcases her passion for life and positivity.  She fills the room with such a large personality that you are immediate drawn to her.

Char (@livelybone): She write Lively Bone and focuses a lot of travel, amazing destinations and captures the beauty of life as only a genuine lady can.  Her feed is filled with amazing photos of some fabulous places.

    party time

As you can tell from the photos we  had the best time and were pampered and treated so well by the amazing ladies at Fabrik Boutique.  This little shop is located in Aspen Grove (for those in Denver) and has some of the cutest clothes in town.  They keep everything under $100 (with the exception of  their Hudson Jeans) and they get shipments in daily.  They have everything from casual tanks and tops to more formal maxi dresses to shoes, shorts, skirts, denim, bags, hats and some local jewelry lines.  The team at Fabrik are amazing at helping you curate and create a look… in fact they helped me create the perfect 35th birthday look which is coming to the blog on Monday.

    collaboration is key

In this field I could consider everyone I meet, everyone I follow on Instagram or any other blogger my competition as we are all fighting for a little recognition, love and followers in this space.  BUT I would be missing out on opportunities to discuss strategies, to learn from others triumphs and challenges, to share success and failures of my own, to learn a thing or two and to develop some amazingly supportive relationships.  In life, competition has its place and at times it is important to foster that competitive feeling but I would say collaboration, support and partnership win out more often than not.

I hope you find inspiration from these ladies, stop by Fabrik and consider the idea that working together helps everyone involved!!!

    With Love,
