Thursday Three- Lips

Kisses! Kisses!  Both cheeks here in the UK which make lip color very important!

Wearing Lip Color casually

Wearing lip color was always something I struggled with and honestly still do.  I felt like everything dried out my lips, or was too bold, or was not the right color.. the list goes on and on.  HOWEVER I have found three that I am in love with.

  1. The Nars Velvet lip glide is amazing.  I have it in PlayPen and it is just enough color but still looks natural.  It does not dry my lips out (although I always put chap stick on underneath) and it stays for hours- not a lot of re-applying needed
  2. YSL makes this excellent lip stain and I actually am looking at another one as I love it so much.  It is a stain- so it is a bolder color but it lasts almost all day so if applied in the morning there would be no need to re-apply until well after lunch.  I have it in 407 Carmin Session.  It is a bit raspberry, a bit pink and a bit burgundy.
  3. Clinque has always been a go to for beauty products for me and this color lip balm reminds me why I love them so much.  It is exactly as the name describes- a lip balm.  I pretty much wear this instead of chap stick and I love it. I have 10 Bountiful Blush and it is almost exact match to my lips.

Wearing and embracing lip color is a learning game for me… I love the idea and I love to see it on others.  I am slowly, but surely, getting there.  These three have been a good ease into the trend… next up SUPER BOLD!!!!

What are your favorites? Maybe I’ll pick one up soon!

The weekend is coming… enjoy the rest of your week!

With Love,

I love this! I’m not a big makeup person but I love to look to bloggers when I’m ready to find something. Great picks for a casual lip.

I love the Covergirl Gloss Balm and I think it’s probably super similar to the Clinique one! I can’t wait to try that one out!

And the YSL shade is so pretty! Thanks for both recommendations! Time to go shopping!

I’ve been experimenting with bold lips for the past couple of seasons – I’m currently trying a berry color for autumn – MAC lipstick in Dark Side Amplified with the lip pencil in Wine…def needs a reapply after lunch, but lasts ok. May try the YSL for my next bold move..
